FREEDOM ONE IN ACTION 

The Freedom One team is committed to improving the services we provide.  These improvements come in the form of enhancements or cost reductions.  We are pleased to announce several improvements that have recently been made that add value to our clients. 

Investment Advisory Services

  • Replaced Mid Cap Growth Manager:  Replaced American Beacon Small Cap Value with Keeley Small Cap Value.  (April, 2008)
     

  • Adjusted International Equity strategy:  Replaced Causeway International Value fund with Dodge & Cox International Stock fund to increase exposure to emerging markets and developed markets outside of Europe.  (January, 2008)
     

  • Provided additional information:  Began providing investment commentary on each participant statement of account (October, 2007)
     

  • Expanded diversification of fixed income menu: Replaced PIMCO Total Return fund with Dodge & Cox Income fund.  Addition of a multi-sector bond asset class, introduced Loomis Sayles Bond Fund (September 2007)
     

  • Enhanced Investment Policy Statement:  Includes recent DOL guidance and greater detail in all areas.  (September 2007)
     

  • Decreased fund cost:  Negotiated a 12b (1) rebate for Fidelity Value decreasing the cost to investors in that fund by .17%, and new share class for Vanguard index funds, reducing costs to investors in our Vanguard funds by 09%. (August, 2007)
     

  • Assisted Plan Sponsors with their provider due diligence:  Voluntarily submitted to extensive review of investment procedures and became the first 401(k) consultant in Michigan to achieve the CEFEX certification as an Investment Advisor by the Center of Fiduciary Excellence (August 2007)

Administrative Services

  • Increased communication regarding loan balances: Significantly reduced the chance of loan over-payments and under-payments through new monthly report. (March, 2008)
     

  • Improved look and feel of website:  Updated look includes more graphics, easier to navigate tool bars, etc.  (January, 2008)
     

  • Improved functionality of website for Spanish speaking participants:    Added Spanish Language option on participant website (October 2007)
     

  • Reduced contribution processing time: Recordkeeping upgrade made payroll processing quicker and easier for clients (June 2007)
     

  • Offered new plan design options:  Auto Pilot program provided a new avenue for increasing participation and improving ADP test results.  Offered plan amendments and additional administrative work at no charge  (January 2007)
     

  • Provided faster trade processing: Same day investment transfers for fund changes and rebalancing (January 2007)
     

  • Enhanced statement options:  Paperless e–statements with much greater detail and an enhanced format including participant’s personalized rates of return (3rd Quarter 2006)
     

  • Demonstrated excellence in recordkeeping and compliance:  Earned exception free SAS 70 Audits in 2007, 2006 and 2005.

Enrollment Services

  • Provided Progressive Retirement Educational Modules: Provided additional group education options including: Value of Advisory Services, How to Read Your Statement, Website Tools, Contribution Limits, Putting the Pieces Together.
     

  • Provided enhanced Group Meeting: Enrollment and Education Presentation for newly eligible participants and participants who are eligible but not currently making contributions.  (November 2007)
     

  • Provided new Enrollment Software: Allows a more detailed retirement projection analysis with the ability to track goal progression (October 2007)
     

  • Developed new Enrollment and Education booklet: Allows us to better communicate with and encourage participants to participate in the Plan. (September 2007)

 Client Relationship Management Services

  • Created opportunity for greater fiduciary awareness:  Hosted Plan Sponsors at the Department of Labor’s “Getting it Right, Knowing Your Fiduciary Responsibilities” seminar (November 2007)
     

  • Created an abbreviated Fiduciary Compliance Investment Review: Allows time for greater focus on new Investment Policy Statement (4th Quarter 2007)

On the Horizon

  • Reduced time and paperwork:  Working to reduce the time and paperwork involved in the participant loan process
     

  • Providing Exceptional Value:  Freedom One will prepare the IRS required plan document restatement for each Plan at no additional cost.
