COMMUNITY CORNER
December
2007
Freedom One helped Lighthouse Emergency Services (LES) by
collecting new children and adult size hats and mittens.
Our goal was to collect 100 hats and 100 pairs of mittens by December
14! And of course, we needed our team members’ support!
We
asked team members to watch for great deals while shopping an we ended
up surpassing our goal. We collected so many pairs of mittens and hats,
we had to put them on display in our Bistro! It was heart warming to see
our team members working so hard to help others during the season of
giving!
Once
again this year, Freedom One also supported the U.S. Marine's Toys
for Tots collection. Team members brought in new, unwrapped toys and
put them under our beautiful Christmas tree. By the pick-up day,
December 14th, the tree was surrounded! And although the holidays are
not just about presents, it was wonderful knowing that our team members
were able to help bring joy to children and parents alike!

In our community, many families turn to Lighthouse Emergency Services
(LES) to help them provide a happy Thanksgiving and joyous holidays for
their children. In 2006, LES provided Thanksgiving groceries to 1,553
families and seniors, and with the current
Michigan
economy, that need was much greater this year.
Freedom
One worked with LES this holiday season, beginning with Turkey Fun Days!
We had several "Fun Days" throughout November to help raise money to
purchase 12lbs. frozen turkeys. Our goal this year was to raise enough
money to purchase 400 turkeys!
Team
members were allowed to dress casual and follow the day’s theme as long
as they provided a donation for LES. The truly exciting part was that
for every donation made by team members, Freedom One matched that
donation! Lighthouse
was very excited to receive our donation and said it would help them
bring food and smiles to a lot of families on Thanksgiving.

This
holiday season Freedom One decided to work with the
Military Order of the Purple Heart,
an non-profit organization that raises funds to provide services,
welfare and rehabilitation for all veterans and their families. We
provided bags and asked that our team members fill them with their
unneeded, gently-used clothing for donation to Purple Heart, and what a
success that was! Our storage room was filled with bags and bags of
clothing, 165 total! We had to arrange for a special truck just to come
and pick-up our donations!

Freedom
One has worked with Lighthouse
Emergency Services (LES) for several years now, this
year team members raised donations to purchase frozen turkeys. This
donation will help LES provide local families and senior citizens the
necessary groceries to enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving dinner.

Freedom One was a
sponsor at the 2006 Clarkston Scamp Walk & Roll. What a huge
success. We had several visitors stop by to say hello and we enjoyed the
beautiful sunshine.
Scamp is a summer camp for special kids and has been part of the
Clarkston community for more than 30 years. Since inception, it has
grown from 75 to over 350 scampers. It is a five-week summer day camp
program for youth with special needs. Scamp provides services for
children from northern Oakland and southern Genesee counties.
